BUSINESS AND GOD’S WORD

Starting a business is not as easy as it seems. It requires some key ingredients and guiding principles that needs to be adopted and imbibed for success. Relating this process with the word of God in prompting and motivating the prospective Entrepreneur is however crucial. Without sounding too spiritual, Only God can give the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to drive your concepts and the ideas. HE only gives the enablement and strength (Romans 9:16) to achieve the desired success.

These are some of the concepts and principles to guide us in developing that lofty idea and in putting them into action:

  1. “Prepare well and plan your actions”. Proverbs 15:3,9 and Luke 14:28 -  identify areas of core competence, make necessary research on the need or gap you want to fill, the product and services you want to offer, identify the pros and the cons, test the waters and determine its viability including resource requirement.
  2. “Align your purpose and plan God’s purpose and plan”. Isaiah 55:8, Isaiah 28:29: - Identifying the import of this provides a smoother ride to achieving your purpose and plan. Running against the tide can be discouraging, demotivating and a shear waste of effort, time and resources.
  3. “Surround yourself with people of like minds”. Amos 3:3, Mat 18:19 -  Partner with people that share your dreams, aspirations and passion. This apply to all that will have a role to play the success and otherwise of the business. Choose wisely!
  4. “Run your own race”. Proverbs 3:31-32 – Be your own person and never try to copy others or try to be what you are not. Our structures, foundation and built are different. Never try to be what you are not.
  5. “Develop a process and structure unique to your ideologies”. 1 Corinthians 14:40 – Develop an operational plan on how you want things to run that is flexible, adaptable and transferable to those that will help you execute your plan.
  6. “Review constantly, be flexible take action”. 1 Corinthians 3:6 – Yes God is the ultimate but you need to play your own part by monitoring and reviewing your operations regularly to ensure you are still current and in tune with current dictates in the economy and in your target. Are you still aligning with God’s purpose or have you deviated? Make necessary changes and corrections where there are deviations.
  7. “Don’t be ashamed to ask for help”. Proverbs 15:22, 1 Corinthians 2:10 – Ask for advice and assistance when needed. Don’t be ashamed to research things you might not understand, improve yourself and your staff regularly. Let the holy spirit guide and lead you always.
  8. “Trust and believe you can do it”. Psalms 143:8, Jeremiah 29:11 – Have faith and believe in yourself. Trust God fully and he will not only see you through but guarantees you all round success.

The assurance we have is that through and with HIM, we can do all things and nothing is impossible for HIM to do.
